What’s the Impact of Your Life Purpose Ripple?
Last week was the third anniversary of my mother’s sudden passing. So many memories came rushing back to me when I saw the date on my calendar. I was reminded of the many things she brought to my life and to the lives of my kids.
But sadly and slowly, I’m realizing how much our family traditions have changed – in just a short amount of time. And it brings to my awareness how much one person can influence an entire chain of events simply by being themselves and touching those they love in special ways that are truly unforgettable. Every person has a unique presence that sometimes can be taken for granted – and only when they’re not around, do we realize the legacy they created while living.
I’m always reminded of my Mom’s legacy – and how it’s still alive today through a variety of channels. Sometimes the reminders are big ones. Other times, they’re quite subtle.
Last week, during a long walk through a snow-covered meadow, I gave myself the gift of quiet contemplation, reflecting on how my Mom’s life choices had affected my life, both as a young girl and as a grown woman. What really stood out most were the choices she had made as a mother.
It was in this energy of “mother” that I realized just how many lives my Mom had touched in her lifetime. This was evident at her memorial service. It’s what everyone wanted to talk about – and remember about her.
It made me think back to a quote that I had heard several years ago – about the many connections we make in our lives, through our conversations and through the actions we take – and the “ripple effect” that is created from that.
The quote is simple, but profound. It captures the impact of synchronicity – and what it means to have the right person at the right time giving you the right message that you need to receive.
“When it is all finished, you will discover that it was never random.”
Think about these words for a moment.
It’s not something we often consider – the words we say, the things we do – and the impact they can have on others.
This is all part of “the ripple effect.” When you’re living from your life purpose, you’re able to make divinely-inspired choices that FEEL right – and that have the potential to touch lives in a meaningful, powerful way.
This is something I explore with my private clients – looking at their ripple of influence and how the “dot-to-dot” of their choices connect to their larger purpose.

While I never viewed my Mom as a spiritual teacher while she was alive, she has become one for me now. Her life has opened my eyes to the power of synchronicity – and what it means to serve as the “divine messenger” for others.
So in honor of my Mom, and because I’m truly grateful to have you as a loyal blog reader, I’d like to share a special gift with you – a beautiful pdf version of one of my award-winning articles, “Life Lessons from My Mom.”
This article was originally written as part of a spiritual anthology designed to bring light to one’s ever-evolving spiritual journey. Its message applies to anyone who truly desires to live an authentic life – rich with purpose, passion, and synchronicity. When we’re living from this energy, the power of our ripple is HUGE!
What kind of ripple are you currently sending out?

This is my FAVORITE line of what you’ve shared today:
And it brings to my awareness how much one person can influence an entire chain of events simply by being themselves and touching those they love in special ways that are truly unforgettable.
That one line really helps me feel anchored in continuing to share what I’m here to share. Sometimes we need a bit of validation that we’re having an impact…this did it for me.
Thanks, Tina!

What a beautiful article to honor your Mother! I remember you recalling her funeral on the Grief Healing Telesummit and how she provided “mothering” to so many. What a great legacy!

It is so beautiful that you now see your mom as a spiritual teacher. Our lives have impact in a way that I don’t think we truly see, but those coming behind us will. I really like the idea that what I do will have a ripple effect, radiating outward to touch many lives. I will live my purpose to the best of my ability.

Hi Tina,
My dad passed suddenly, too, six years ago. I still haven’t quite adjusted to the new normal, but I reach for him regularly. I don’t know what his life purpose was, but I feel his ripple effect more and more as time goes by. And your article has prompted me to realize that my work as an animal healer is more important than I can imagine. I don’t always see my own ripple effect, but will trust this phenomenon more as I serve my clients and follow my life purpose . Thank you for the beautiful gift. I look forward to sitting with a nice cup of tea and having a good read.

TIna – This is is such a touching post. I appreciate your provocative question, “What kind of ripple are you currently sending out?” The ripple keeps on going and it’s so interesting to think of how our actions and others have touched us so dearly and deeply to create and leave a legacy. Thank you for sharing you special gift with us!
