How Does Gratitude Link to Abundance?
As we approach Thanksgiving here in the United States – and officially begin the holiday season, my mind has been drifting toward the meaning of gratitude – and what being grateful has brought to my life.
Gratitude has often been linked to abundance.
As author and spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle says, “Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.”
If you’re finding yourself challenged by day-to-day issues or overwhelmed with the emotions that stem from the holiday season, it’s helpful to remember what it is going right in your life.
This is where gratitude journaling comes in.
Working with the law of attraction, this journaling technique helps switch the focus from the negative to the positive. And after a few days of gratitude journaling, the mindset starts to change – and the way one sees and experiences life begins to switch from “glass half empty” to “glass half full.”
Your mindset can make or break your success in every area of your life. As the law of attraction states, you get what you think about, whether wanted or unwanted. The simplest definition of this law is “like attracts like.”
So your thoughts become part of an energy field – and you become a magnet attracting anything to you that resembles what you’re thinking about.
If you think, “This is going to be a horrible day” – then it will. But if you shift your mindset and start thinking, “This is going to be a great day” – then you will start seeing all the good in your day.
If you’d like to bring more abundance in your life, there are four things you can do with your pattern of thought:
- Know what you want.
- Ask the universe for it.
- Feel and behave as if the object of your desire is on its way.
- Be open to receiving it.
All forms of matter and energy are attracted to that which is of a like vibration. So if you are sending out positive energy through your thought patterns, then your perspective of everything will change. You will start seeing the glass half full.
Take some time this week to ponder what’s already abundant in your life – and note it in your journal. Allow yourself to notice just how much you have to be grateful for.
It’s often those things (or people) that we take for granted.
If you’d like to explore this beautiful way of journal writing on a deeper level, please join me for my special e-course: Gratitude Journaling: Being Thankful for Everyday Gifts
This 30-day e-course begins with an introduction to gratitude journal writing and the many practical benefits that you can apply to your day-to-day life. You’ll also learn about intention-setting and how a special dedication in your journal can support your intentions. This will be followed by 21 days of journaling prompts designed to highlight the many good things in your life.
And the more you journal with gratitude, the more you’ll have to be grateful for and the more abundant you will feel.
Here’s to a rich and beautiful holiday season filled with abundant blessings!

Inspirational message of creating what we want in our lives! Pen to paper is for me one of the most powerful tools when it comes to making the messages conscious and tangible. In a dynamic with others doing so – shifts occur. My gratitude journal is an important part of my nightly routine – thank you for the reminder. Blessings for a beautiful holiday Tina!

I often repeat the mantra “Ask, Believe, Receive” to capture the essence of what you’re writing about today. Reminders are always helpful!!

Great post Tina! Gratitude journaling is such a great way to show appreciation for all in your life. It really helps you account for all the good in your life that you can so often take for granted. Everything you have in some way is actually a gift to you.

What a great post; I love how you write about ‘like attracts like’, I see this all the time and especially when I look at how people group. This is a great indicator of how they feel about their life experience. I choose to exercise my mind to think abundance, and be so thankful for all that I have.

Tina – I agree that Gratitude is linked to Abundance! Energetically they feel very similar and support the shift in mindset to harness the vibration of positive perspective and change 🙂

It is so important to remember that we are attracting all the time. Whatever resonates with our mindset is what we are going to get, whether we are doing it consciously or not. I want to be conscious. Thanks for the reminder!

What a beautiful way to express the things you’re grateful for – through journaling. I love that you’re offering this course to people, Tina.
It makes so much sense that your course will bring more abundance into the lives of those who participate in it 🙂
