The Journey of Synchronicity
Imagine being outside on a cool, crisp autumn evening, looking up above and seeing dozens of stars scattered throughout the night sky. They seem to be sparkling with a magical energy that you don’t quite understand, yet you somehow feel connected to it. You sense that the stars “know” what your dreams are and what your passions are – and they’re beckoning you to follow your heart. They appear to have the answers – the answers you’re searching for as you begin to ponder a new beginning for yourself, either personally or professionally – maybe both. As you begin to ponder the direction you want to take and what next steps are needed to get there, think back to the many messages that have been…

Five Tips for Parenting with Presence
For many of us, parenting is part of our life purpose. There’s a lot that we learn about ourselves and about the world around us through our role as parents. It also allows us to serve as both teacher and student – as we learn to navigate some of the most meaningful relationships in our lives. Today, I’ve invited author Susan Stiffelman to join me on the topic of parenting with presence. Her book, published by New World Library, was released last week as the first in the Eckhart Tolle Editions series. When speaking on the subject of life purpose, Stiffelman notes, “When it comes to parenting, it seems that although we may not have knowingly signed up for the ‘course’ our children offer, we…

What’s the Impact of Your Life Purpose Ripple?
Last week was the third anniversary of my mother’s sudden passing. So many memories came rushing back to me when I saw the date on my calendar. I was reminded of the many things she brought to my life and to the lives of my kids. But sadly and slowly, I’m realizing how much our family traditions have changed – in just a short amount of time. And it brings to my awareness how much one person can influence an entire chain of events simply by being themselves and touching those they love in special ways that are truly unforgettable. Every person has a unique presence that sometimes can be taken for granted – and only when they’re not around, do we realize the legacy they…

Managing the Ebb and Flow of Life
American writer and mystic, Thomas Merton once said, “We cannot be happy if we expect to live all the time at the highest peak of intensity. Happiness is not a matter of intensity, but of balance and order and rhythm and harmony.” This speaks to the ebb and flow of life. Humans aren’t machines. We don’t have a constant source of power from which we draw upon – to perform complicated functions all the time without breaks. Rather, our power supplies (our energy and emotional levels) dip and rise with each hour of the day – and even wax and wane on a much larger level. We either find ourselves in periods of great motivation and energy – or in periods where we just want…

A Journaling Mom’s Path to Self-Discovery
As we begin to enter the last quarter moon phase, I’m mindful of the baby steps that are needed before we can take off on a full run toward anything in life that we may desire. And with each step we take, there’s an impact – an impression that we make on the path – that has an everlasting effect, not only on us, but on those around us. Imagine for a moment a “pebble thrown into a pond.” It creates a ripple that goes on and on and on. I believe that mothers are a significant part of the “ripple effect” – that will transform the world into a more loving, more nurturing place. When a mother is living life with complete authenticity, she’s…
