• Exploring Life’s Pivotal Moments

Fiction writer, Sandra Kring once noted, “We work hard to disown the parts of our lives that were painful, difficult, or sad. But just as we can’t rip chapters out of a book and expect the story to still make sense, so we cannot rip chapters out of our past and expect our lives to still make sense. Keep every chapter of your life intact, and keep on turning the pages. Sooner or later you’ll understand why every scene, every chapter was needed.” Throughout our life journey, we encounter a variety of different experiences. We meet new people, we make friends, we get an education, we take certain jobs, we change our career, we explore certain hobbies, we find love, we experience break-ups, we make…

  • Inspiration – Signs from the Other Side

Artists and writers are often inspired by creative muses, which come in various forms and at unexpected times. In my case, it was the moon that inspired a body of work that I didn’t realize I had within me. After moving through a difficult phase in my life, it was the moon that taught me the significance of transition – and how our life journeys are always shifting from darkness into light, and cycling around again. Inspiration comes when you’re least expecting it, even from the other side – as described by author Bill Philipps in his new book, Signs from the Other Side: Opening to the Spirit World – which was recently published by New World Library. This book offers techniques for listening to intuition and…

  • Emerging from the Shadow

Sometimes when we’re “stuck” – and fumbling around in the dark, tripping over our own shadow – the universe makes the movement for us. It picks us up, rattles us around – and puts us somewhere. And it’s there, in that place – where we must find a way to “bloom where planted.” It will be there, that we begin the “rooting out” process. And part of this involves rooting out those places where we know we’re living out of balance. It’s time to kick the dependencies that suck resources, and become more self-sufficient with our energy. In this week of a super full moon phase – in the astrological sign of Taurus, there’s a combining of the intense energy of a Scorpio Sun with the…

  • Are You Showing Up for the Wonders in Your Life?

I’ve just returned from a magical week in Iceland – where I experienced one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The Northern Lights have been on my “bucket list” for a few years – and it took my 12-year-old daughter’s growing interest in them for us to finally take action by scheduling a winter vacation on this glorious Nordic island located within the Arctic Circle. And after witnessing them up close and personal, I can say this – the aurora borealis is truly spectacular! Not knowing what to expect, I was both pleasantly surprised and truly captivated by this extraordinary sight. Mother Nature sure knows how to put on a good show! And with just the right conditions (a cold, clear, and frosty winter night…

  • Are You Ready for this Full Moon’s “Leap of Faith?”

Another full moon phase is upon us – and it brings with it energy of “forward movement.”  This is because it lands in the astrological sign of Aries – which activates our inner risk-taker. When the full moon is in Aries, she gives us what we need to spring forward with a giant leap, even if it feels risky. Her energy can literally push us to the edge of our comfort zone, beckoning us to “take a leap of faith.” And if we’re ready, and I mean REALLY ready, this leap could pay off in a meaningful and impactful way. As artist and author Margaret Shepherd once said, “Sometimes your only available transportation is a leap of faith.”  We all arrive at periods in our life…
